Job summary

D2 Consulting in Springfield, VA is seeking a Systems Administrator (Desktop Support) to provide end-user technical support and ensure reliable desktop systems. You will work with on-site and remote users to resolve issues and support deployments.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance, a BA/BS (or equivalent) and 5+ years of experience, with certifications such as Security+ or CASP and ITIL v4 Foundations. Compensation and benefits reflect industry standards for cleared IT roles.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Thin Client VDIs and desktop management.
• Experience with Windows 10/11, Citrix, SMS, and SCCM.
• Strong hardware knowledge for end-user devices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to document work clearly and train others.

Responsibilities

• Independently develops technical solutions for software, hardware, configurations and architecture.
• Provide troubleshooting support for complex hardware and software issues.
• Perform advanced software installations and OS upgrades.
• Monitor and tune systems for optimum performance.
• Guide less-experienced staff on workstation/server data integrity.
• Lead complex data/media recoverability with backups and archiving.
• Assess existing systems and plan long-term strategies.
• Configure and maintain networked computer systems and apps.
• Conduct advanced hardware/software audits for standards compliance.
• Be a subject matter expert and manage large projects with limited oversight.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Train end-users on proper hardware/software usage.
• Coach and review work of others; may lead teams or tasks.
