Job summary

Leidos in Maryland is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a classified MD customer in a fast-paced agile environment, with primary focus on daily system administration and O&M for a distributed network. The position involves setup and maintenance of a company site in the Annapolis Junction area and collaboration with senior engineers.

The role requires BS or MS with 4–8 years of related experience, strong experience with Windows/Linux, VMware, and network infrastructure, plus on-call

Qualifications

• BS or MS with 4–8 years of relevant experience; degree substitutions allowed.
• Experience with IT/systems that include switches, routers, LANs, cabling, Windows/Linux, VMware.
• Experience in Data Center design/configuration (rack/stack, power, placement).
• Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, and documenting technical processes.
• Hands-on customer support experience in IT or related field.
• Willingness to be on-call and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Monitor infrastructure systems, applications and processes; identify, track and resolve issues.
• Support hardware/software incidents affecting local users; work with senior technicians.
• Escalate as needed and publish status of outages.
• Provide technical assistance to allied teams and maintain inter-department relations.
• Execute information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system scans; apply patches.
• Document processes and contribute to system documentation.
• Participate in IT enhancements and project work.
