Job Summary

Leidos is looking for a System Administrator to support our Intellectual Sector’s Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA) in Alexandria, VA. The role involves daily system administration and O&M support of a complex, geographically distributed network environment, with a primary focus on sustaining and maintaining the company site in Alexandria.

Primary Responsibilities

• Handling IT Help Desk calls and emails, ensuring all interactions are handled timely and professionally.
• Utilizing enterprise monitoring solutions to identify and respond to alarms affecting the environment.
• Troubleshooting and correcting hardware, software and network connectivity issues with guidance from senior System Administrators.
• Providing technical assistance to partner work groups and maintaining inter‑departmental relations.
• Communicating with users and publishing status of system outages as needed.
• Proactively notifying customers about significant infrastructure delays that could impact business operations.
• Managing information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and performing system security scans in accordance with System Security Plans.
• Initiating IAVA responses, completing remediation, and applying security updates to IT and network systems.
• Contributing to documentation for incident resolution and maintaining accurate records.
• Supporting IT enhancements and undertaking project work as required.

Required Qualifications

• BS with 4‑8 years of experience or Masters with 2‑6 years; experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience with complex IT equipment (e.g., network switches, routers, LANs, cabling, Windows/Linux, VMware).
• Knowledge of data center design and configuration (rack, power, placement).
• Familiarity with IT system optimization, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Documentation of technical processes.
• Hands‑on IT customer service experience.
• Clear, concise communication and detailed status reporting.
• Adherence to best practices, maintenance windows and change control procedures.
• Strong analytic abilities and meticulous work ethic.
• Independent thinker capable of working alone and within a team.
• Availability for on‑call support during off‑hours as needed.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Willingness to report to the Annapolis Junction, MD office at least once per month.
• Clearance required: TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with security standards, software architectures or network security technologies (PKI, SSP, vulnerability assessment).
• Support experience in a software configuration management and development environment.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.

Pay Range

Pay Range $87,100.00 – $157,450.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a guideline only and does not guarantee compensation. Additional factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, and market data may influence a final offer.
