Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mid/Sr System Administrator to support a large, distributed network environment in a fast-paced, security-focused setting. The role emphasizes system administration, vulnerability management, and maintaining complex IT infrastructure across multiple domains.

The candidate will install applications, configure servers, and perform operational tasks, with a focus on security, uptime, and collaboration with developers, testers, and engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical field and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Must have experience as a systems administrator providing direct support to end users and technical staff (developers, testers, engineers, etc.).
• Proficient with Windows Server 2019 and Active Directory.
• Experience with software/hardware deployment, patches, operating systems, and basic system backup and restore functions.
• Experience with SALT, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, SolarWinds, Nessus.
• Experience with Red Hat and VMware.
• Solid understanding of advanced security protocols and standards.
• Experience with client and server virtualization environments.
• Experience with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and reimaging hardware.
• Solid understanding of information security principles and practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to travel occasionally.
• Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Install applications, administer systems and processes, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure server and desktop configurations are optimized and running continuously.
• Perform security management and application performance optimization.
• Maintain and document complex server/network environments for incident resolution.
• Communicate outages and upgrades with users and management.
