Position: Repairman

Organization Unit: Power Operations, Power Plants

Applicable To: Fossil Fuel Plants

Responsibilities:

• Perform electric arc and gas welding, cutting, brazing, pipefitting, and insulation installation/removal on power plant equipment, working under supervision and on a rotating or day shift schedule.
• Lead and direct apprentices as required.
• Conduct welding repairs, structural steel erection, piping work, and mechanical maintenance, including replacement and repair of plant components.
• Work from drawings and sketches, ensure safety protocols, and obtain necessary materials and tools.
• Operate lifting and rigging equipment, work from scaffolds, and use various tools and test equipment.

Additional Duties:

• Prepare reports, complete forms, and document work performed.
• Perform similar or less skilled work as needed.

Special Responsibilities:

• Follow safety precautions, check for explosive gases, and ensure safety of team members.
• Execute work accurately, carefully, and efficiently, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Interactions with Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Storeroom personnel.

Working Conditions:

Extreme temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, and potential hazards from equipment failure, heights, hot materials, arc flashes, and confined spaces.

Qualifications:

• Meet standards as per the Apprenticeship Program or equivalent requirements.
• Be accurate, steady, calm in emergencies, physically capable, and have no color vision deficiencies.

Compensation:

Hourly Pay: Grade Step OA 048 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - $50.89 USD
