About Ameren Missouri

Ameren Missouri has been providing electric and gas service for more than 100 years, with some of the lowest electric rates in the nation. Our mission is to power the quality of life for 1.2 million electric and 132,000 natural gas customers across central and eastern Missouri, covering 64 counties and over 500 communities, including the greater St. Louis area.

Position: Electrical Repairman

Organization Unit: Power Operations, Power Plants

Applicable To: Fossil Fuel Plants, Osage, Keokuk

Responsibilities:
  • Perform installation, repair, and overhaul of electrical systems and equipment in power plants under supervision, including generators, transformers, circuit breakers, motors, and related electrical components.
  • Work from schematics, drawings, and sketches, ensuring equipment is properly isolated and protected for safety.
  • Obtain materials, set up rigging, operate lifting, mobile, and shop equipment, and use various tools and test devices to accomplish tasks.
  • Operate cutting and heating torches, checking for explosive gases when necessary.
  • Complete reports and forms related to work performed, including sketches if required.
  • Work independently or with others, performing similar and less skilled tasks as needed.
Special Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety protocols to protect oneself and others, especially when working on energized circuits.
  • Ensure safety instructions are observed by all personnel under supervision.
  • Perform work carefully to avoid errors, maintain tools and equipment properly, and keep work areas clean and safe.
Contacts:

Interact with dispatchers, meter and relay personnel, and plant operations and maintenance teams.

Working Conditions:

Subject to temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, odors, drafts, and weather conditions. May work in confined or poorly lit areas.

Hazards:

Risk of electrical shocks, burns, falls from heights, and exposure to noxious fumes. Follow all safety protocols to mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

Meet standards as per the Apprenticeship Program or equivalent. Must be accurate, steady, calm in emergencies, physically capable, and have normal color vision.

Compensation:

Hourly pay: Grade Step OA 048 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - $50.89 USD. Position eligible for annual incentive payments based on company performance.
