About Ameren Missouri

Ameren Missouri has been providing electric and gas service for more than 100 years. Our electric rates are among the lowest in the nation. Our mission is to power the quality of life for our 1.2 million electric and 132,000 natural gas customers in central and eastern Missouri. Our service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 communities, including the greater St. Louis area.

Position: Repairman

Organization Unit: Power Operations, Power Plants

Applicable To: Fossil Fuel Plants

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform electric arc and gas welding, cutting, brazing, pipefitting, and insulation installation/removal on power plant equipment.
  2. Work under supervision, on a rotating or day shift schedule.
  3. Provide work direction to apprentices when required.
  4. Perform maintenance on heavy mechanical equipment, including welding repairs, pipe fitting, and valve work.
  5. Engage in refractory and insulation work on various plant components.
  6. Follow drawings and sketches for repairs and installations.
  7. Ensure safety procedures are followed, including equipment isolation and protection.
  8. Prepare reports and documentation of work performed.
  9. Operate equipment, tools, and lifting devices as needed.
  10. Work alone or with others, performing similar or less skilled tasks.
Special Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to safety precautions and safeguards.
  • Check for explosive gases before torch operations.
  • Maintain accuracy and safety in all work activities.
  • Keep work areas clean and materials properly disposed of.
Contacts:

Interact with Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Storeroom personnel.

Working Conditions:

Work in varying temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, and sometimes in confined or elevated spaces.

Hazards:

Potential exposure to equipment failure, falls, burns, arc flashes, noxious fumes, and other mechanical hazards.

Qualifications:

Meet Apprenticeship Program standards or equivalent requirements, with qualities such as accuracy, composure, physical strength, and good vision.

Compensation:

Hourly pay: Grade Step OA 048 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - $50.89 USD.
