Job summary

MCGARITY CONSULTING GROUP seeks qualified professionals for a contingent project in the United States. The role tests web content and applications for Section 508 conformance, documenting results for compliance reporting.

Remote work with approximate 29 hours per week (about 1,504 hours per year) is expected until project award. Prerequisites include DHS Trusted Tester Level 5 certification, knowledge of Revised Section 508 Standards, and at least one year of accessibility testing.

Job description

We are staffing this role for a contingent project and identifying qualified candidates now. The position does not exist until the project is awarded. Candidates selected will be asked to confirm availability and sign a contingent commitment letter. No work or compensation begins before award.

~1,504 hours/year, about 29 hours per week

The work. The web testing seat. You test web content and applications against the federal conformance standard using the government's own test process, and document what you find so responsible teams can fix it and the program can report accurately. The Senior Accessibility SME quality-reviews your test records, which become the basis for compliance reporting to executives and oversight bodies. Consistency and completeness matter here as much as speed.

Required. Current DHS Trusted Tester Level 5 (or later) certification - hard requirement. Basic knowledge of the Revised Section 508 Standards. One year of accessibility testing experience.

Also needed. WCAG 2.0 A and AA familiarity. Screen reader familiarity with JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver. Careful documentation habits - a defect recorded ambiguously is a defect someone else has to retest. Willingness to have your work reviewed and corrected; quality review is built into this program by design. Interest in growing into document remediation and advisory work, since this role sits directly below two seats that do both.
