Job summary

Team Carney seeks a Trusted Tester - Level I (Web Tester) to join our defense-focused team on a part-time basis. You will assess Section 508 conformance across ICT deliverables and learning products, using DHS methods and reporting tools to produce actionable remediation guidance.

You will collaborate with developers and instructional designers to embed accessibility early in the lifecycle, document defects, and ensure accessible, inclusive user experiences for federal government clients.

Qualifications

• Active DHS Trusted Tester Version 5.0 Certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 2+ years ICT experience.
• 1+ year Section 508 testing experience.
• Experience with DHS Conformance Test Process for Web (v5.0+).
• Solid knowledge of Revised Section 508 Standards and WCAG.
• Ability to document failures and generate remediation guidance.
• Strong collaboration with PMs, developers, and content creators.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, test, and validate Section 508 compliance across ICT deliverables and digital learning products.
• Use DHS-approved assessment methods and reporting tools to ensure assets meet standards.
• Document non-conformance defects and collaborate with teams to resolve them.
• Liaise with project managers, developers, and content creators to integrate accessibility early in the lifecycle.
