Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) is hiring DOT inspection certified mechanics for our Fife, WA location to diagnose and repair tank trailers, tanks, and related systems to DOT HM183 and hazmat standards. Welding (TIG/MIG) experience is preferred.

Shift Mon-Fri, 7:00am–3:30pm. Pay range is $28.00 to $42.00 per hour, based on experience. DCI offers benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• DOT inspection certified mechanics are sought for Fife, WA.
• Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing tank trailers to DOT HM183/Hazmat standards.
• Welding experience (TIG/MIG) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical and electrical systems on tank trailers.
• Perform tank service and repair, including trailer suspension work.
• Work on air brake systems and related components.
• Weld as needed (TIG/MIG) for aluminum, stainless, or carbon parts.
• Inspect tanks/trailers for DOT HM183 hazmat compliance.
• Background in confined space entry is preferred.
• Maintain safety and quality in all repairs.

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Pay Range: $28.00 to $42.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
(Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.)
Demonstrated Skill In Most Of The Following Areas

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG & MIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience preferred
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)
• Background in confined space entry (preferred)
• Must obtain a High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
