Job summary

Depot Connect International is seeking a diesel truck & trailer mechanic at our Casper, WY location. The role offers a pay range of $20.00–$39.00 per hour and a path to ASME certification as a welder.

Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining chemical tanker trailers, diagnosing air brake and ABS systems, welding stainless or aluminum as needed, and ensuring DOT/hazmat compliance. Shift: Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm; benefits include health insurance, 401(k) with match, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of heavy-duty trailer or tanker mechanic experience.
• Knowledge of DOT tanker requirements and hazmat regulations.
• Experience on chemical tankers preferred.
• Welding experience (TIG/MIG for stainless/aluminum).
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in shop/outdoor environments.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT annual inspections and preventative maintenance on chemical tanker trailers.
• Diagnose and repair air brake, ABS systems and suspensions.
• Inspect tanker barrel integrity, weld seams and structural components.
• Service valves, manways, gaskets, vapor recovery and discharge systems.
• Perform pressure/vacuum testing and leak detection.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems (if equipped).
• Conduct aluminum and stainless-steel welding/fabrication as needed.
• Maintain proper documentation of inspections and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA and hazmat regulations.
• Maintain safe shop practices and follow OSHA guidelines.

We are currently searching for a diesel truck & trailer mechanic with the ambition to become an ASME certified welder at our Casper WY location!

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay Range: $20.00 to $39.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of heavy-duty trailer or tanker mechanic experience preferred
• Knowledge of DOT tanker requirements and hazmat regulations
• Experience working on chemical tankers strongly preferred
• Welding experience (TIG/MIG preferred for stainless/aluminum)
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in shop/outdoor environments
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and working at heights 4-12 feet.
• Must be able to fit through a 16" manway.
