Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Truck Service Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in leading the Truck Service department’s marketing and operations. You will guide technicians through troubleshooting and repair of heavy-duty trucks and trailers while maintaining a customer‑friendly, safe, and efficient service environment.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) required; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Supervisory experience in convenience store, truck service, travel center, or related business activity preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Truck Service business preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other managers.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the Truck Service team to meet and exceed company standards.
• Coach and manage staff according to company policy.
• Recruit, hire, train and retain high-quality team members.
• Guide technicians through troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing trucks and trailers.
• Ensure availability of products and services through visual inspections.
• Contribute to revenue and profit objectives through effective people, product, service, and facility management.
• Adhere to safety standards and vendor relationship guidelines.
