Job summary

M&K Truck Centers in Amherst, OH, is seeking a motivated Service Advisor to be the primary liaison between customers and the service department. You will open, update, and close repair orders, communicate status, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

The role requires strong customer service and organizational skills, experience with dealership software (ADP/CDK or Reynolds & Reynolds preferred), and the ability to explain repairs to customers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Service Writer, Service Coordinator, or similar customer-facing service role.
• Experience in a commercial truck, heavy-duty truck, diesel, fleet, automotive, equipment, or transportation service environment preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to effectively explain technical repair information to customers.
• Experience managing multiple repair orders in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with dealership management systems and computer applications.
• Experience with ADP/CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar dealer management software preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, parts personnel, and customers.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and schedule service, maintenance, and repair appointments.
• Open, update, and close repair orders accurately and efficiently.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the repair process.
• Communicate vehicle status updates, estimated completion times, and repair recommendations.
• Coordinate with diesel technicians to prioritize work and ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Review technician findings and prepare accurate repair estimates.
• Recommend preventative maintenance services and necessary repairs in a professional and ethical manner.
• Research warranty coverage, recalls, service bulletins, and manufacturer repair information.
• Ensure all labor operations, parts, and customer concerns are properly documented on repair orders.
• Monitor work in progress and proactively communicate delays or additional repair needs.
• Assist in maintaining departmental productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Build long-term relationships with customers by delivering outstanding service and follow-through.
• Maintain compliance with dealership, manufacturer, and safety standards.
