Job summary

Bruceton Petroleum Co., Inc. is seeking a Truck Driver in Grantsville, MD to deliver fuel oil, gasoline and LPG safely and efficiently to customer sites.

You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, operate tank trucks, record deliveries and complete shipping papers while complying with DOT regulations for CMVs and hazmat.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Commercial driver's license with hazardous material and tanker endorsement.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to climb up to 15 ft.

Responsibilities

• Delivers fuel oil, gasoline, and LPG to customers safely and efficiently.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Opens valves or starts pumps to fill tanks.
• Reads gauges or meters and records quantities loaded.
• Records deliveries and issues tickets to customers.
• Performs light maintenance and routine checks on equipment.
• Completes required shipping papers and hours of service reports.
• Adheres to DOT regulations for operating CMVs and hazmat; responds to emergencies.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to – Director of Operations

Basic Function:

A driver is primarily responsible for delivering fuel oil, gasoline, LP etc. in a safe and efficient manner to various locations as assigned by his/her manager.

Essential Functions:

• Drives tank truck to deliver gasoline, fuel oil, or liquefied petroleum gas to customers: Drives truck into position to load at filling rack.
• Perform pre and post trip visual inspections of vehicle to determine road worthiness;
• Open valves or starts pumps to fill tank.
• Reads gauges or meters and records quantity loaded.
• Records amount delivered and issues ticket to customer.
• Perform daily maintenance of bulk plant; light maintenance on trucks (washing, etc.)
• Complete required paperwork such as shipping papers, hours of duty reports, etc.
• Have working knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations regarding operating a commercial motor vehicle, transporting hazardous material and how to respond to an emergency;
