Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and HVAC. The role involves light engine work, suspension, drive train, and some tire tasks, supporting drivers and keeping a modern fleet in operation.

The position emphasizes on-site and road service with safety as a priority, opportunity for training, and a stable schedule within a large environmental services

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Prior experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 light/medium and heavy-duty Class 7-8 vehicles or graduation from automotive college/technical school.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working knowledge of vehicle components and systems; performs preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies and braking systems including hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs welding and fabrication.
• Provides safe road service to return equipment to operation.
