Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and air braking systems. You will diagnose issues, do preventative maintenance, and support drivers on routes with on-site and field service.

The role covers engine work, HVAC, suspension, drive train, and electrical systems, with opportunities for line welding, new technology training, and career growth within a state-of-the-art fleet.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Prior experience with maintenance on heavy-duty trucks or similar equipment.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a technician role or relevant technical schooling.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and skill in chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Repair light engine, suspension, drive train, steering and HVAC systems.
• Perform line welding and fabrication as needed.
• Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation efficiently.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and complete required training.
