Job summary

The Community College of Aurora offers a TRIO Student Office Assistant position at CentreTech Campus in Aurora. This work-study role supports TRIO Programs with administrative tasks and student outreach.

Responsibilities include front desk duties, recruiting support, keeping student records, event flyers, and coordinating with advisors. Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study and enrolled at least 6 credit hours. Pay is $17.50/hour.

Qualifications

• Student must be awarded work study hours by the Financial Aid Office.
• Minimum 2.0 GPA.
• Preference for current TRIO SSS or TRIO SSS-ESL participants.
• Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at CCA.
• Excellent customer service skills and a desire to grow professionally.
• Intermediate computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft software, the internet, and general computer trouble shooting.
• Ability to place and receive phone calls on a regular basis and respond to emails.
• Capable of working independently in a constantly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Outreach to current TRIO students identified by Trio Advisors.
• Assists in recruitment: by sending email and conducting phone calls to eligible students.
• Front desk duties: answer emails/phone calls, greet visitors, schedule appointments, paperwork and sign-in.
• TRIO Programs and Events: serve as a student leader and design flyers/posters.
• Other duties as assigned.
