Job summary

Wilton Rancheria is seeking an Academic Counselor to provide academic counseling, planning, and case management for K–12 through postsecondary students. You will collaborate with families, schools, and community partners to develop education pathways and navigate SST/IEP processes.

The role requires strong communication, cultural awareness, and the ability to manage a caseload with sensitivity to tribal priorities and governance. Evening and weekend work and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, student services, social work, or a related field.
• Experience providing academic advising, student support, counseling, case management, or educational services.
• Experience working with K–12 or postsecondary students.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential records.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic counseling to Tribal Citizen students and eligible participants.
• Develop individualized academic success plans with students.
• Monitor student progress and provide follow-up support.
• Assist with course selection, graduation requirements, and educational planning.
• Provide referrals to tutoring, disability services, counseling and other resources.
• Maintain confidential student records and documentation.
