Job summary

The Southern California Tribal Chairmen's Association (SCTCA) in Pala, CA seeks a Career Development Specialist to support Native American families through TANF services, career planning, and training coordination.

You will assess interests, develop career plans, connect with employers, maintain records, and coach participants to secure and sustain employment. This is an on-site, full-time role with a competitive hourly wage DOE.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum High School Diploma with 3 years in Career Development preferred.
• Alternate: Associate's Degree with 2 years in Career Development.
• Experience: coaching, handling complaints, and helping others improve employability.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual career guidance by assessing interests, aptitudes, abilities and personality.
• Develop and monitor Career Plans and Training Schedules with participants.
• Contact employers, negotiate placements and monitor employment outcomes.
• Assist with resume/cover letter development and interview coaching.
• Conduct workshops on resume writing, interview skills, and job search strategies.
• Maintain confidential participant records and prepare periodic reports.
