Job summary

Wright Tree Service seeks a General Foreperson to lead and coach the line clearance crew, assign tasks, and prioritize work on the job site under direction from the Project Manager.

You will enforce company safety policies, train crew members, and collaborate with HR on hiring, discipline, and leaves. Strong communication with customers and utilities is essential, with travel 20–30% for crews and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-5 years of experience on tree trimming or clearing crews or equivalent skill assessments.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Valid First-Aid and CPR cards are required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and a DOT medical card per FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight and supervision of line clearance crew members, including task assignments and performance management.
• Interpret and apply union agreements; enforce safety policies and OSHA regulations; conduct safety briefings and trainings.
• Coordinate with Human Resources on hiring, discipline, and employment leaves; manage employee relations matters.
• Read and interpret maps and drawings of power lines; allocate daily work orders and ensure accurate records (timesheets, work orders).
• Control costs through manpower, methods, trimming quantity, and equipment use; support investigations and safety at the job site.
• Maintain customer relations and communicate with property owners, public, and utilities; be available for emergencies or disasters as needed.
