Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services is hiring a Climber in Hagerstown, MD. The role involves climbing, pruning, and removing trees, with a focus on safety and adherence to Foreperson directives.

The position requires at least one year as a climber in line clearance; a driver’s license is preferred. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, and potential enrollment in the 401K plan. Travel may be required for storm work.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming/removal.
• Climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Able to administer emergency rescue techniques and first aid.
• Familiar with electrical hazards and procedures near conductors and aloft.
• Willing to travel for storm restoration work.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees per Foreperson directives.
• Load/unload trucks with logs, brush, debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Operate ground-based tools and inspect equipment condition.
• Maintain safety and communicate with crew during operations.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
