Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Needham, MA is seeking a Climbing Arborist to join our outdoor team. Your office is outdoors and you will work with a crew to prune and remove trees, install cables, bracing, and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Must love outdoor work and be fit for climbing.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal tasks safely and skillfully.

We are currently looking to add a dynamic Climbing Arborist to our passionate team of tree care professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you get a new view every day!

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Compensation

$28 - $32 (Based on experience and certifications)

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. Including but not limited to:
  • Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
  • Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
  • Removal of hazardous trees
  • Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
