Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Needham, MA is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our team of tree care professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you’ll work with a crew to prune and remove trees, install cables and bracing, and protect health and safety of trees and surroundings.

You’ll use DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems and operate with a ground crew while following safety standards and providing unrivaled client service.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and working at height required.
• Forestry, horticulture, landscaping background preferred.
• Must complete Davey Tree orientation program on hire.
• Must complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Pesticide licenses/certificates preferred per state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal safely, including deadwood removal and canopy work.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).

We are currently looking to add a dynamic Climbing Arborist to our passionate team of tree care professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you get a new view every day!

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Compensation

$28 - $32 (Based on experience and certifications)

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
