Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Needham, MA is seeking an Arborist Crew Leader to guide a field team in delivering tree care services outdoors. Your office will be the outdoors, with a varied daily view and hands-on leadership of crew operations.

You’ll climb using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, prune and remove deadwood, install cables and braces, and mentor crew members through our development program. A valid driver's license and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors and be able to lead a crew in outdoor settings.
• Valid driver's license required at hire; certifications preferred.
• Complete Davey orientation, First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor arborist crew in delivering tree care services.
• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning, removal, cable/bracing, and hazard tree work.
• Operate tools safely and maintain equipment.

We are currently looking to add a dynamic Arborist Crew Leader to our passionate team of tree care professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you get a new view every day!

Compensation

$35-$45 Hourly (Based on experience and certifications)

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.

Including but not limited to:

• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking for:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Valid Driver's License required
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist ®, ISA Certified Tree Worker ®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional ®
