Job summary

IES Holdings is seeking a General Superintendent to oversee large, complex projects, driving safety, quality and financial performance. The role requires extensive field leadership, staff management, and close coordination with customers across multiple locations.

The position emphasizes supervision of labor, project cost control, timely documentation, and seamless on-site communication with clients. Travel and on-site presence are integral to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years supervisory or managerial experience.
• Minimum three years as Lead Communications Technician or similar position.
• Minimum five years in telecommunications or related field.
• Must be proficient with a computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
• Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
• Must demonstrate ability to define a project, create a scope, estimate and manage tasks to completion and turnover.
• Must use listed trade tools as part of job duties.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline staff per policy and ensure HR objectives.
• Act as senior liaison for operational interface with customer representatives.
• Plan, monitor and maintain project profitability to meet company goals.
• Ensure deadlines are met per customer requirements.
• Manage workload distribution, staffing levels and installation progress.
• Oversee job cost postings, invoices, collections and financial reporting.
• Complete all IES and project paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, transfers, work orders, change orders).
• Perform quality checks, prevent outages, and conduct day-to-day job walks; prepare as-built drawings.
• Serve as main on-site customer contact and attend meetings as required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; ensure accuracy in estimating, purchasing, invoicing, warehousing, scheduling and reporting.
• Develop, redesign and implement process improvements as needed.
• Coordinate with Training Department to monitor quality and safety; promote safety as priority.
• Lead operations meetings and training sessions; manage tools and truck inventory/maintenance.
• Complete any other responsibilities as assigned.
