Job summary

RRC Solutions Group is seeking a traveling field technician to test and maintain high-voltage substation equipment across the Midwest. The role tests LV through HV systems up to 765 kV and includes travel up to 100% with per diem.

Expect to work on switchgear, GIS, transformers and control schemes in diverse customer environments. Preferred candidates hold NETA Level II–IV and have hands-on experience with relays, breakers, transformers, and HV test equipment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on substation experience (69–345 kV) with relays, breakers, transformers and controls.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% with per diem.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot and commission LV through HV systems, up to 765 kV.
• Test switchgear and breakers, including SF6 gas breakers and GIS.
• Inspect, test and repair transformers, from small units up to large power transformers.
• Run power factor and other HV test sets (Doble M4000 class or similar) and test cable installations.
• Commission and troubleshoot control and transfer schemes.
