FSCA is currently hiring a Sr. Fleet Mobile Technician to join our Team to support the future growth of the Company. If you are looking for a new place to call home, we would love to talk to you!
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overnight travel to distant markets to maintain and service vehicles will be required at the expense of Cox Automotive. Travel schedule will vary each week with a couple nights per week expected.
- Always follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.
- Manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections of vehicle.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of vehicle equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, A/C systems, and more.
- Perform maintenance and repair of different classes of vehicles or specialized vehicles, troubleshooting complex hydraulic, diesel, gas, electrical, and computer systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, light and major repairs, and advanced diagnostics, with customer interaction and high integrity.
- Based on certification levels, perform various repairs including OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension, electrical, safety inspections, and more.
- Install, maintain, replace, and repair aftermarket equipment.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, adhere to safety standards, and comply with regulations.
- Inspect, test, and diagnose malfunctions using test instruments; road test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
- Stay up-to-date on safety protocols and procedures.
- Apply knowledge from training and experience to perform job duties, evaluate technical information.
- Communicate effectively with clients and support team, manage tasks, prioritize work, and act with integrity.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile environment.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
- Document work performed, parts used, and observations via company devices; complete DOT forms and other documentation timely.
- Work independently, manage own schedule, obtain parts from vendors, and communicate with management for approvals.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and regulations including OSHA, EPA, DOT.
- Participate in safety training, establish good relationships with customers and vendors, adhere to policies and procedures.
- Overnight travel to distant markets will be required at Cox Automotive's expense.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' related experience, or a different combination of education/certification and experience.
- Possess or obtain within 18 months: Master ASE certification, and ASE 608/609 certification.
- Must pass a DOT-regulated background screening and physical.
- Valid DOT medical card or recent DOT physical required.
- Must be at least 21 years old, with a clean 3-year MVR review, valid driver's license, and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
- Knowledge of vehicle engines, parts, repair, and maintenance.
- Ongoing training to maintain ASE status and adapt to technology changes.
- Knowledge of DOT and CDL requirements.
- Logical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods.
- Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and safety awareness.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OEM training and certifications.
- Additional certifications such as A1-A8, T1-T8, ASE L1, L2, and diesel experience.
Work Environment & Physical Environment:
- Exposure to outdoor weather, moderate noise.
- Physical ability to perform labor, lift up to 75 pounds, and perform various physical activities.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly rate: $28.65 - $42.98, with potential additional compensation and incentives.
