Position: Senior Fleet Mobile Technician

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Travel overnight to distant markets for vehicle maintenance and servicing, with travel expenses covered by Cox Automotive. Travel schedule varies weekly.
2. Follow all safety practices and procedures.
3. Manage parts inventory and equipment on company trucks, perform periodic reconciliations.
4. Maintain and operate company vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre-/post-trip inspections.
5. Diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle systems including electrical, brake, cooling, engines, transmissions, and more.
6. Perform maintenance and repairs on various vehicle classes, troubleshooting complex systems.
7. Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, inspections, and light to major repairs, including diagnostics and customer interactions.
8. Perform repairs based on certification levels, including systems like OBD II, brakes, tires, and others.
9. Install, maintain, and repair aftermarket vehicle equipment.
10. Conduct advanced diagnostics and repairs.
11. Keep work areas organized and in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
12. Inspect and test equipment, diagnose malfunctions using test instruments.
13. Road test vehicles to verify repairs.
14. Stay updated on safety protocols.
15. Apply training and technical knowledge effectively.
16. Communicate with clients and support team effectively.
17. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.
18. Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
19. Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and follow-up repairs in a mobile environment.
20. Use hand tools, precision instruments, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
21. Document work and upload pictures using company devices.
22. Complete DOT and other documentation timely.
23. Manage own schedule and obtain parts from vendors.
24. Communicate with management for approvals and notes.
25. Comply with safety, health, and environmental policies, including OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations.
26. Complete safety training as required.
27. Build good relationships with customers and vendors.
28. Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain Master ASE and ASE 608/609 certifications within 18 months.
• Pass DOT background screening and physical.
• Valid driver's license; at least 21 years old; clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• OEM training and certifications.
• Additional certifications such as A1-A8, T1-T8.
• ASE L1 and L2 certifications.
• Experience with diesel engines.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Outdoor conditions, moderate noise.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, perform physical tasks.
• Vision and mobility requirements.

Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly pay: $28.65 - $42.98, with potential additional compensation and incentives.
