Position: Senior Fleet Mobile Technician

Essential Responsibilities:
- Travel overnight to distant markets for vehicle maintenance and servicing, with travel expenses covered by Cox Automotive. Travel schedule varies weekly.
- Follow all safety practices and procedures.
- Manage parts inventory and equipment on company trucks, perform periodic reconciliations.
- Maintain and operate company vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre-/post-trip inspections.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle systems including electrical, brake, cooling, engines, transmissions, and more.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on various vehicle classes, troubleshooting complex systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, inspections, and light to major repairs, including diagnostics and customer interactions.
- Perform repairs based on certification levels, including systems like OBD II, brakes, tires, and others.
- Install, maintain, and repair aftermarket vehicle equipment.
- Conduct advanced diagnostics and repairs.
- Keep work areas organized and in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Inspect and test equipment, diagnose malfunctions using test instruments.
- Road test vehicles to verify repairs.
- Stay updated on safety protocols.
- Apply training and technical knowledge effectively.
- Communicate with clients and support team effectively.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.
- Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and follow-up repairs in a mobile environment.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
- Document work and upload pictures using company devices.
- Complete DOT and other documentation timely.
- Manage own schedule and obtain parts from vendors.
- Communicate with management for approvals and notes.
- Comply with safety, health, and environmental policies, including OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations.
- Complete safety training as required.
- Build good relationships with customers and vendors.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to obtain Master ASE and ASE 608/609 certifications within 18 months.
- Pass DOT background screening and physical.
- Valid driver's license; at least 21 years old; clean driving record.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Own set of hand tools.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems and repair techniques.
- Commitment to ongoing training and certification.
- Understanding of DOT and CDL requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Physical ability to perform heavy labor and work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OEM training and certifications.
- Additional certifications such as A1-A8, T1-T8.
- ASE L1 and L2 certifications.
- Experience with diesel engines.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Outdoor conditions, moderate noise.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, perform physical tasks.
- Vision and mobility requirements.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly pay: $28.65 - $42.98, with potential additional compensation and incentives.
