Position: Sr. Fleet Mobile Technician

Essential Responsibilities:
- Overnight travel to distant markets for vehicle maintenance and service, at Cox Automotive's expense. Travel schedule varies weekly, with a couple of nights per week expected.
- Follow and comply with all safety operating practices and procedures.
- Manage parts inventory and equipment on company-issued service trucks, including periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate the service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre-/post-trip inspections.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various vehicle systems including electrical, brakes, cooling, starters, alternators, A/C, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on different classes of vehicles, troubleshooting complex systems like hydraulics, diesel, gas, electrical, hybrids, and onboard computers.
- Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, transmission flushes, and inspections. Perform repairs and diagnostics with customer interaction, demonstrating integrity and trust.
- Depending on certification, perform repairs on OBD II systems, brakes, tires, tune-ups, suspension, lifts, electrical, safety inspections, and drive train components.
- Install, maintain, and repair aftermarket equipment in vehicles.
- Perform complex repairs and diagnostics.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, follow safety standards, and comply with regulations.
- Inspect and test equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments.
- Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
- Stay updated on safety protocols and procedures.
- Apply training and experience to perform job duties, understanding technical information.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members, providing excellent customer service.
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
- Work with management and support teams for approvals, estimates, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and regulations including OSHA, EPA, DOT.
- Complete safety training as required.
- Build and maintain good relationships with customers and vendors.
- Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Overnight travel as required for vehicle maintenance and service.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possess or obtain Master ASE certification and ASE 608/609 within 18 months.
- Pass a DOT-regulated background screening and physical prior to employment.
- Valid driver's license, at least 21 years old, with a clean 3-year MVR review.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Own a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems and repair techniques.
- Commit to ongoing training and certification maintenance.
- Understanding of DOT and CDL requirements.
- Logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks.
- Effective communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OEM training and additional certifications such as A1-A8 or T1-T8.
- ASE L1 and L2 certifications.
- Diesel engine experience.

- Outdoor weather exposure, moderate noise levels.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, and perform labor tasks.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception.
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly rate: $28.65 - $42.98, with potential additional compensation such as commissions or incentives.
Benefits include paid time off, holidays, and other leave options.
