Position: Senior Fleet Mobile Technician
Support the company's growth and join our talented team of professionals.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Overnight travel to distant markets to maintain and service vehicles, at Cox Automotive's expense, with a varying schedule.
- Follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.
- Manage parts inventory and equipment on company-issued trucks, including periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate company vehicles, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on various vehicle classes, troubleshooting complex systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, light and major repairs, and advanced diagnostics, including customer interactions.
- Perform repairs based on certification levels, including systems like OBD II, brakes, tires, and more.
- Install, maintain, and repair aftermarket equipment in vehicles.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards and regulations.
- Inspect, test, and diagnose malfunctions using test instruments, road test vehicles.
- Stay updated on safety protocols and procedures.
- Apply technical knowledge from training and experience.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
- Obtain parts from vendors and communicate with management for approvals.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
- Complete safety training and establish good customer/vendor relationships.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possess or obtain Master ASE certification and ASE 608/609 within 18 months.
- Pass DOT-regulated background screening and physical; valid DOT medical card required.
- At least 21 years old with a clean 3-year MVR review and valid driver's license.
Skills and Abilities:
- Set of hand tools necessary for the job.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and maintenance.
- Commitment to ongoing training and knowledge updating.
- Understanding of DOT and CDL requirements.
- Logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Effective communication and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OEM training and certifications, ASE L1, L2, and diesel experience preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Outdoor conditions, moderate noise, physical labor, and safety awareness required.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and perform physical tasks, including lifting.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly rate: $28.65 - $42.98, with potential additional incentives. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, and various leave options.
