Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an Assistant Engineer to support project delivery on a high-profile construction site. You will act as liaison with architects, subcontractors and owner's representatives, manage submittals, shop drawings and budget, and help ensure the project aligns with contract documents.

You will supervise engineering assistants and interns, prepare scope documents, and contribute to reports and meetings to drive on-time, on-budget delivery with quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus at least two years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with BIM and LEAN practices; ability to read and interpret contract documents.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison with architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and owner representatives.
• Oversee contract drawings and subcontract information; ensure alignments with the estimate.
• Manage the project budget and submittals/shop drawings; resolve conflicts.
• Negotiate change orders; analyze and obtain approvals from architect and owner.
• Oversee close-out process and prepare final records and manuals.
• Supervise Engineering Assistants, Plan Clerks and Interns; participate in performance discussions.
• Prepare scope of work documents for trades; develop reports on general conditions, labor and safety.
• Schedule and lead subcontractor coordination, preconstruction and submittal review meetings.
