Job summary

West Point Optical Group in Texas is seeking an Optician to deliver an exceptional patient experience by accurately fitting eyeglasses, explaining lens options, and ensuring precise prescriptions are translated into comfortable frames.

You will build professional relationships with patients and doctors, assist with frame selection, take measurements, and contribute to store merchandising and marketing initiatives while maintaining accurate pricing and delivery estimates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years in retail preferred.
• State licensure or certification by a nationally-recognized opticianry association as an optician.

Responsibilities

• Drive store sales by fostering a retail selling culture and using effective sales skills.
• Develop professional relationships with associates and Doctors.
• Fill eyeglass prescriptions and fit/adapt lenses and frames.
• Utilize prescriptions to meet patient visual requirements.
• Recommend lenses and coatings to suit patient needs.
• Assist patients in frame selection and ensure prescription alignment.
• Perform optical measurements.
• Ensure quality patient experience with accurate pricing, POS data, and realistic delivery quotes.
• Provide guidance on Managed Vision Care.
• Assist with merchandising per Planogram and company standards.
• Support marketing programs and signage per company standards.
• Other duties as assigned by Store Manager.
