Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Lead Communications Technician in Tempe to act as on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. You will ensure project completion per quality and safety standards while maintaining staff efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, supervisory experience, and the ability to travel within the region. Competitive pay and full benefits are provided after initial period.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field.
• Ability to terminate fiber.
• Minimum 6 months supervisory/managerial experience.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents.
• Know universal communications color codes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Must meet company driving standards.
• BICSI Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead major project crews and supervise on-site activities.
• Provide necessary training and ensure safety and quality guidelines are followed.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure productivity and budget compliance.
• Complete all project paperwork on time (timesheets, work orders, etc.).
• Perform quality checks and prepare as-built drawings.
• Serve as main on-site customer contact and attend meetings as required.
