Job summary

IES is seeking a Communications Technician II to lead a small crew of installers, coordinate daily workloads, ensure safety and quality standards, and perform a broad range of telecommunications tasks on-site.

You will install outlets, build closets, perform testing, and supervise crew members while ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to company procedures. The role is full-time and onsite with full benefits after 30 days.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field and ability to supervise others.
• Must be proficient with listed tools and interpret project documents.
• Knowledge of universal communications color codes and driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Install work area outlets for floors, modular furniture and walls; terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks and mount face plates.
• Build closets with backboards, cross connects, racks and patch panels; install grounding and complete IDC connections.
• Perform testing using volt-ohmmeter; troubleshoot opens, shorts and crossed pairs; identify active voice/data circuits.
• Coordinate crew performance; provide training; manage timelines to complete projects.
• Complete company paperwork accurately (timesheets, work orders, transfers).
