Job summary

Independence Excavating, Inc. is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead projects from start to finish. You’ll oversee budgets, schedules, submittals, RFIs, contracts, and purchase orders while maintaining strong interaction with owners.

This role reports to the Senior Project Manager and requires travel up to 100%. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in managing large commercial construction projects, solid organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate across sites and teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• At least 5 years’ experience managing large commercial construction projects.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and sites.
• Ability to interact professionally with owners, project engineers, and local government offices.
• Proven ability to oversee people, budgets, schedules, and quality of work across sites.
• Capable of complete and accurate project take-offs and estimates; willing to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of assigned projects including budgets and schedules.
• Oversee submittals, RFIs, contracts, and purchase orders.
• Coordinate with owners and project team; present progress and issues.
• Monitor cost versus budget and maintain profit margins.
• Prepare monthly cost/profit projections and ensure on-time delivery.
