Independence Excavating, Inc. is seeking a Traveling Heavy Civil Project Manager to oversee projects across sites. You will manage budgets, schedules, submittals, RFIs, contracts, and purchase orders while engaging professionally with owners.

This role reports to the Senior Project Manager and requires extensive travel. The company emphasizes safety, integrity, and community impact, offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience managing large commercial construction projects is required.
• Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks and sites.
• Ability to build positive relationships with owners and project engineers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and return submittals for items to be manufactured or provided.
• Coordinate with Superintendent/Operations Manager on equipment and crew needs.
• Assemble job cost codes and update regularly.
• Coordinate subcontractors and material deliveries on major items.
• Review and approve subcontractor and supplier estimates and invoices.
• Negotiate and coordinate Extra Work Orders and CORs for changes in scope.
• Monitor production, resource use, and job cost vs. estimate to protect profit.
• Prepare monthly job cost and profit projections.
