Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking a Superintendent to oversee daily operations at a job site, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. You will supervise direct labor and manage contracted work to ensure successful project completion.

The role requires full-time travel on-site to the project location, with the location in Utah per the posting. The incumbent will coordinate with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and clients to maintain schedules and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent education/experience.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial/cold storage.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands codes/design requirements.
• Knowledge of subcontractors' scopes and tolerances.
• Strong written and verbal communication; basic Spanish preferred.
• Good administrative skills to monitor progress and coordinate activities.
• Strong management skills to supervise and follow up on delegated work.
• Maintains professionalism and integrity in job-related activities.
• Shows initiative and self-starting attitude; works with minimal supervision.
• Able to operate office equipment and use spreadsheet/word processing software.
• CMiC knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Studies specifications to plan procedures and staffing for each construction phase.
• Works with Project Manager to determine project schedule and look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinates pre-construction meeting and mobilization.
• Directs procurement of tools/materials to meet work schedules.
• Keeps all parties informed of construction issues and progress.
• Resolves workforce issues with supervisors and labor representatives.
• Interacts with inspectors, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve problems.
• Inspects progress to ensure conformance with specs and schedules.
• Manages project resources, costs, and schedules; relocates personnel as needed.
• Prepares the Project Management Plan with PM.
• Ensures safety, equal opportunity, and quality standards are followed.
• Performs other related duties.
