Job summary

STO Building Group seeks an experienced Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials. The role requires managing direct labor and contracted work to ensure timely project completion.

The position involves full-time travel on-site to project locations nationwide. Travelers must be prepared for on-site responsibilities and coordination with Project Manager, clients, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, particularly in light industrial and/or cold storage sectors.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes and reading blueprints accurately.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Understands building codes and subcontractor scopes; strong written and verbal communication.
• Good administrative and management skills; monitors progress, coordinates, and leads teams.
• Professional conduct, ethics, and ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures, staffing, and schedules for each phase.
• Coordinate with Project Manager on schedules and look-ahead planning.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Ensure all parties are informed of progress and issues; coordinate with clients, subs, and crews.
• Resolve issues with supervisory and engineering personnel; improve construction methods.
• Inspect progress to ensure conformity with specs and schedules.
• Move personnel between projects to manage labor costs; adjust crew mixes.
• Prepare the Project Management Plan with Project Manager.
• Ensure safety and quality policies are implemented consistently.
