Job summary

STO Building Group seeks an experienced Superintendent to manage day-to-day operations on construction sites nationwide, with full-time travel to project locations. The role oversees direct labor, procurement, schedules, and subcontractor coordination to ensure timely completion and safety.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, planning, and communication skills, plus a knowledge of construction processes and blueprints. Valid license and travel readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, particularly in light industrial/cold storage.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands building codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; basic Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures for construction based on specifications, timelines, and staffing.
• Coordinate project schedule with Project Manager and develop look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings prior to mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Inform all parties of construction progress and issues; coordinate with subcontractors and clients.
• Resolve issues with supervisory and engineering personnel to improve methods.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance with specifications and schedules.
• Manage crew assignments to control labor costs and staffing.
