Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Float Teller to support branches across the designated area in the United States. You will handle transactions, balance cash, assist customers with digital demonstrations, and promote banking services.

Travel between branches is required to cover staffing needs, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to policies and controls. A minimum of 6 months in customer service and a GED or high school diploma are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and minimum of 6 months customer service experience, including data entry and/or cash handling experience.
• Ability to travel between branches on an as needed basis.
• Proven verbal communication skills.
• Proven interpersonal skills; demonstrates exceptional customer service.
• Well-organized; strong time management and prioritization; proficient with internet tools.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to customer service standards and deliver solutions in moments that matter.
• Educate customers through shoulder-to-shoulder digital demonstrations; identify self-service opportunities.
• Engage in lobby management; greet customers and address immediate needs.
• Balance and process customer transactions accurately per policy.
• Resolve escalated account issues and log complaints in the system.
• Transition sales opportunities to appropriate banking partner.
• Perform branch operations (cash, vault, ATM, wire transfers).
• Process customer/account maintenance tasks.
• Complete AML/KYC related activities.
• Adhere to compliance/operational risk controls.
