Job summary

Johnson Controls’ Silent-Aire division seeks a Field Services Technician to support commissioning, after-sales service, and unsupervised field work. You will coordinate with managers, complete forms, and travel to local job sites while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires travel up to 70%, basic electrical knowledge, and the ability to read drawings. Excellent communication and independent work ethic are essential for success in a dynamic, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Registered apprentice in Electrical or HVAC.
• Willing to travel up to 70%.
• Understand basic electrical and control systems and how air handling and distribution work.
• General knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Identify 3-phase versus single phase wiring.
• OHMS Law and using a multi-meter.
• Read and work from mechanical drawings.
• Maintain records and prepare reports.
• Possess passport/driver’s license.
• Independent working aptitude and communication skills.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
• Strong planning and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and work from heights.
• Experience in Industrial/Manufacturing/Field environments.
• Basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Check in with Manager at end of each workday in the field.
• Complete all company forms daily and as fully as possible.
• Perform daily scheduled tasks.
• Check in with client at start and end of each day.
• Obtain client signatures on forms when applicable.
• Use Time Clocks and ADP app to record times.
• Submit paperwork after each trip in order.
• Ensure receipts/invoices have job numbers and are sent to the correct person.
• Document excess materials used for each job.
• Assist on job sites with other Field Technicians as needed.
• Respond to office emails/calls promptly.
• Maintain safety equipment at all times.
• Secure parts and tools needed for the day.
• Report warranty repairs to supervisor.
