Johnson Controls International plc. is seeking a field-based HVAC controls service technician to commission, troubleshoot, and service building systems. You will work on commissioning with Johnson Controls tools, resolve control issues, and respond to basic warranty needs on customer sites.

The role emphasizes safe field execution, accurate documentation, and clear communication with customers and internal teams, contributing to reliable operation and energy efficiency across facilities.

Qualifications

• Vocational School four-year program or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field plus three years of industry experience, or 1 year of experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuitry as it relates to HVAC controls and system operation.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tools.
• Leadership skills to support Mechanics on non-complex Building Automation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
• Respond to basic warranty calls and support customers with timely service and follow‑up.
• Load system‑level controller software and perform basic diagnostics from controllers to end devices.
• Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment and complete required commissioning documentation.
• Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation.
• Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
• Complete time sheets, expense reports, on‑site documentation, and other administrative tasks accurately.
• Provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes that help improve facility efficiency and support follow‑up opportunities.
• Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
