Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an engineering technician to support Silent-Aire’s cooling systems for data center facilities. The role involves field and manufacturing collaboration, installing refrigerant-based HVAC components, reading blueprints, and ensuring system reliability and safety.

Travel to customer sites and adherence to safety protocols are required. You will work with design, QA, and manufacturing teams to provide feedback and improve service quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with cooling/refrigeration equipment or HVAC systems preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical, control and mechanical blueprints, drawings, and other specs.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components using hand and power tools.
• Measure, lay out reference points, and install piping; weld/braze as needed.
• Test system for leaks, recharge refrigerant, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/refrigeration equipment and PLC-based controls.
• Communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical staff; interact with field customers and manufacturing teams.
