Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Traveling Construction Field Engineer to lead field operations, ensure safety, and supervise engineering work across projects. The role reports to the Project Manager and covers contract administration, planning, scheduling, and reporting on major construction sites.

The position requires an undergraduate engineering/CM degree (or equivalent) with 2+ years of construction experience, travel willingness, and strong communication skills to work with field crews and management.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
• 2+ years of professional construction experience.
• Ability to travel and relocate as required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
• Legal ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and measure completed work.
• Prepare work plans and field packages.
• Support field surveying and layout including elevations and control points.
• Assist in daily timekeeping, JHA preparation, and safety reviews.
• Coordinate material deliveries and schedule field crews.
• Supervise field operations and liaise with project management.
• Support procurement and subcontracts activities.
