Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Traveling Construction Field Engineer to lead field operations, ensure safety, and maintain high-quality reporting across major projects. You will report to the Project Manager and handle contract administration, planning, scheduling, and project reporting, advising on contractual and legal issues.

This role requires willingness to travel and relocate, plus strong ability to read drawings and perform takeoffs.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of related professional experience in construction.
• Ability to travel and relocate as required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and measure completed/installed work.
• Prepare work plans and work packages.
• Support field surveying and layout including elevations and control points.
• Compile daily labor timesheets and JHA’s.
• Participate in safety reviews and toolbox meetings.
• Coordinate material deliveries and scheduling.
• Supervise field operations and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Assist in cost tracking and change order generation.
• Provide field support to Project Manager and engineers.
