Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Traveling Construction Field Engineer to lead health and safety on job sites, ensure quality reporting and workmanship, and support project management on contractual issues. The role reports to the Project Manager and involves field travel across assignments.

The position emphasizes contract administration, planning, scheduling, project reporting, and advisory input for project issues, with opportunities on major construction projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
• 2+ years of professional construction field experience.
• Ability to travel and relocate as required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity takeoffs by measurements and percentages of work.
• Prepare work plans and work packages.
• Assist in field surveying and as-built data compilation.
• Maintain daily labor timesheets.
• Prepare Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and support safety reviews.
• Order and schedule material deliveries; plan and coordinate work groups.
• Supervise field operations and coordinate Contractor activities.
• Assist in bid planning, material takeoffs, and cost data gathering.
• Prepare data for submittals and transmittals to customers and vendors.
