Job summary

Bon Appetit is seeking an Executive Chef, Traveling Support, to provide hands-on culinary leadership across a portfolio of accounts. The role reports to the Regional VP and focuses on elevating food quality, standardizing culinary practices, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The Traveling Support Executive Chef will quickly assess operations, build trust with teams, train staff, and ensure operational standards are met while traveling up to 85% of the time.

Qualifications

• Experience leading culinary operations in high-volume environments (foodservice, hospitality, contract dining).
• Proven track record as an executive chef or senior culinary leader.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, HACCP and kitchen ops management.
• Experience supporting operational improvement and leadership transitions.
• Ability to travel extensively and manage multiple accounts.
• Financial acumen in food cost, inventory, and labor considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive chef leadership across multiple accounts during transitions and openings.
• Assess kitchen ops and implement solutions to improve quality, consistency and efficiency.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and dining experiences.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, allergen management, and regulatory compliance.
• Support new account openings, menu implementation, and team training.
• Mentor chefs and culinary teams through coaching and hands-on leadership.
• Contribute to culinary innovation, SOPs, and training resources.
• Build strong client and operations relationships to foster collaboration.
• Travel extensively to support locations across the region as needed.
