Job summary

Ledcor Group seeks an experienced Excavator Operator to join our telecom construction crews, traveling throughout Arizona and surrounding states.

You will safely operate a CAT 308 mini excavator, work around underground utilities, and assist with conduit placement, compaction, and site readiness.

This role offers a competitive hourly wage, a rotating project schedule approximately every four weeks, Living Out Allowance (LOA), health, dental, vision coverage, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of excavator experience in civil construction, roadbuilding or utilities.
• Experience with fiber optic or underground utility installation is a strong asset.
• Understand backfill, lift thickness, soil moisture and compaction requirements.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret utility locates.
• Knowledge of safe digging practices and on-site safety standards.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a CAT 308 mini excavator for civil construction and earthwork.
• Excavate around underground utilities while following locate procedures.
• Place soil and aggregates to support compaction.
• Assess soil types and moisture impact on compaction.
• Support conduit placement and cable installation to maintain production.
• Perform daily inspections and basic equipment maintenance.
• Assist with labor tasks and team support as needed.
• Communicate clearly with crew and supervisors to meet goals.
