Job summary

Ledcor Group is seeking experienced Excavator Operators to join our telecom construction crews. Projects rotate across Arizona and surrounding states, roughly every four weeks, with travel required and LOA provided. A strong civil/utility background and ability to read drawings are essential.

You will operate a CAT 308 mini excavator, excavate around utilities, assist with conduit placement, and perform routine maintenance while maintaining safety standards and team communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of excavator experience in civil construction, roadbuilding or utility work.
• Experience with fiber optic/underground utility installation is a strong asset.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret utility locates.
• Solid understanding of backfill, lift thickness, soil moisture and compaction.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a CAT 308 mini excavator for civil construction and earthwork.
• Excavate around utilities following locate procedures.
• Place soil and aggregate in lifts for proper compaction.
• Support conduit placement and cable installation to maintain production.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance.
• Communicate with crew to meet daily project goals.
