Job summary

Hunt Electric Corporation is seeking a Traveling Assistant Project Manager to support administration, planning, and installation of large electrical construction projects across diverse sectors. You will collaborate with seasoned Project Managers to oversee procurement, engineering, subcontracting, and installation, while building lasting client relationships and ensuring quality workmanship.

This role requires willingness to co-locate at project locations with a travel package aligned to Hunt

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two-year degree in electrical construction, construction management, or related field is preferred.
  • National Electrical Code knowledge is preferred.
  • Drawing/blueprint reading and specifications experience preferred.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills are expected.
  • Bluebeam and CAD experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet daily deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager across the project lifecycle from procurement to installation.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relations to ensure satisfaction.
  • Help optimize project economics and keep projects on track financially.
  • Prepare, process, and manage project documentation including files and schedules.
  • Handle submittals and close-outs accurately.
  • Be a versatile team player tackling diverse tasks to support project success.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager: Work hand-in-hand with our seasoned Project Managers to oversee the entire project lifecycle – from procurement and engineering to subcontracting and installation.
  • Build Strong Customer Relations: We believe in fostering lasting client relationships. You'll have the chance to develop and maintain positive interactions, ensuring client satisfaction and an exceptional industry reputation.
  • Optimize Project Economics: Be part of the team that keeps projects on track economically while upholding our commitment to quality workmanship. Your contributions will directly impact our bottom line.
  • Master Project Documentation: Gain proficiency in preparing, processing, and managing all essential project documentation. This includes files, schedules, reports, billing, and more.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Willign and able to co-locate at the project location with travel package that aligns with the Hunt Electric traveling plan.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) year degree in electrical construction, construction management, similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • National Electrical Code knowledge preferred.
  • Drawing/blueprint reading, and specification experience preferred.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word computer skills.
  • Bluebeam and CAD experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

This position operates at an industrial job site and is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and noise, possibly requiring closed toed shoes, as well as occasional use of a hard hat and eye protection. This position also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers. Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl. This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. This position may occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range: $66,560.00 - $92,160.00 Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
